Lauren Patrizio Xaba, Founder & Executive Director

Lauren founded SquashDrive in August of 2009 and began serving students in the spring of 2010. As a student at the University of Pennsylvania, Lauren was a two-time All-American squash player, playing on the national championship team in 2000, and captaining the team the following year.

Lauren graduated with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School with a Management Concentration. After graduation, Lauren worked for Comcast-Spectacor, SCORE Educational Center, and Washington Mutual in marketing, sales, and project management.

Lauren sits on the University of Pennsylvania Squash Board and is very involved in Northern California Squash and Racquet Association. Lauren grew up in Philadelphia and lives in San Francisco.

Kerry Fliss, Program & Development Director

Kerry joined SquashDrive in Spring 2016 as Program & Development Director. Having spent four years working with MetroSquash, a sister program based in Chicago, she brings a wealth of relevant experience to the role.

Prior to joining the urban squash and education movement, Kerry spent fifteen years working in communications at a number of world-class ad agencies. She also ran an independent consulting practice where she advised Boards of Directors in the education and arts communities.  Kerry graduated from Queen’s School of Business and currently lives in San Francisco. She is a squash enthusiast and looks forward to spending time on court with the students.

Rachel Fine, Academic Director

Rachel joined SquashDrive in January 2014 as Academic Director. Rachel manages the academic programming for SquashDrive, planning enrichment activities and working with each student individually to ensure every SquashDrive member has the support they need to succeed academically.

A native San Franciscan, Rachel recently returned to the Bay Area after 6 years in New York where she worked with youth in a variety of capacities. Rachel has a Bachelors from Oberlin College and a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Community Organizing, Planning and Development from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, CUNY.

Pamela Larromana, Squash & Community Director

Pamela joined Squash Drive in April 2015. Pamela coordinates the Squash Program for SquashDrive, supporting volunteers to have a positive and fun experience as well as teaching technique, movement and all aspects of the squash game to our students.

Pamela played varsity squash for Trinity College for 4 years and grew up playing for Mexico’s National Junior Team. She graduated with a B.A. in International Studies and has a Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration. Prior to joining SquashDrive, Pamela was the Assistant Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Squash teams at St. Lawrence University.

Efrain Carrillo, Academic Coordinator

Efrain joined SquashDrive in the Spring of 2016 as a volunteer tutor. He was hired in August to take on the role of Academic Coordinator. Efrain is responsible for managing classroom sessions and developing academic curriculum for SquashDrive students. Originally from the Los Angeles area, he recently graduated from UC Berkeley where he received a B. A. in English.

Although Efrain has no prior background in the sport of squash, he is an avid athlete and is looking forward to getting into the swing of things on the squash courts.

Lexi Saunders, Program Coordinator

Lexi joined SquashDrive in the Fall of 2016 as Program Coordinator. She collaborates with team members on program-wide initiatives, including the planning of fundraising events and assisting with development and marketing initiatives such as donor database management and social media. Lexi assists with daily academic sessions and plans community service opportunities for our students. A former four-year varsity squash player at Princeton, Lexi also brings energy and enthusiasm to the squash court!
